New Immunization Policy
Monday, May 23, 2011

All students entering public or private school in Alabama are required to present an Alabama Certificate of Immunization (IMM-50) or exemption before attending school at any grade level.  There will be a strict enforcement of this requirement.  We encourage you to obtain the required immunizations and appropriate certificatres from your child's doctor or local county health department. If your child's immunization or certificates are not up to date, his/her school attendance will be affected as a result.  Absences due to lack of immunizations will be considered unexcused.  If have questions or if you need additional information concerning your child's required immunizations or certificates, please call your physician or Immunization Deaprtment at the Mobile County Health Department 690-8821.

The new Alabama Department of Health immunization requirement states that any student age 11 or older entering 6th or 7th grade must have a booster dose of Tdap vaccine (Tetanus, Diptheria & Pertussis).

Please take time over the summer break to check with the child's physician to make sure he/she meets the current immunization requirements.  This will ensure your child's attendance will not be affected.

Students moving to Alabama from another state are required to have immunization information transferred to Alabama Immunization Form.  For more information on this procedure contact the Mobile County Health Department at 251-690-8820.
